uPGRADE TIPS FOR OVERNIGHT GUESTS
Personalize the Pitch – Tailor the upgrade to the guest’s needs. If they’re a couple, highlight the romance factor. If they’re on business, emphasize relaxation after a long day.
Use the Power of Suggestion – Instead of asking, “Would you like to upgrade?” say, “Many of our guests love upgrading to a private hot tub suite for a more luxurious experience.”
Create a Sense of Exclusivity – Use phrases like “limited availability”, “exclusive experience”, or “VIP treatment” to make the guest feel special.
Highlight the Value, Not Just the Price – Instead of focusing on cost, emphasize benefits: “For just a small upgrade, you can enjoy your own private hot tub, perfect for unwinding after a long day.”
Leverage Social Proof – Mention how other guests have loved the upgrade, sharing positive experiences or reviews. “Many of our guests say the hot tub upgrade was the best part of their stay!”
Offer a Quick Tour – If possible, offer a quick tour of the Hot Tub patio or Movie Room.
Use FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) – Make guests feel they’ll regret missing out: “Only two of these upgraded suites are left for tonight—should I secure one for you?”
Ask Open-Ended Questions – Instead of yes/no questions, try “Would you like to explore our Hut Tub or Movie Room upgrades?” to encourage engagement.
Use the “Assumptive Close” – Assume they’re interested: “Let me go ahead and add the hot tub upgrade to your stay—you’re going to love it!”
Train Your Team to Be Enthusiastic – Guests pick up on energy. If the staff is excited about the upgrade, guests will be too!
